From what i can remember, there are three different versions that popped up on various bay compilations & jt projects around 97 and they all bump, back when JT's producing skills were on point.

You have the "Fatha Figga" version that appeared on the Heat compilation (1997) and later appeared for some reason on a makaveli tribute album

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/PUj07JuzCSA" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/PUj07JuzCSA</a>

You have the version that was on 4080 Compilation Vol. 2, entitled "From Long Beach to the Bay" with a very different beat and hook and some half rapped lines at the end that are not on the other versions

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/bgJNcR6MZ0M" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/bgJNcR6MZ0M</a>

and then you have the version from JT's Game Tight/greatest hits album, kinda similar to the "heat" version, with a smoother beat

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/gNMDT-VCCTY" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/gNMDT-VCCTY</a>

hard to choose since two of them are quite similar and the other one is quite as good but i'd choose maybe the Game Tight version for the hook and the production.

but i think there are even some more versions, anyone ?

i think they did 2 songs wit each other back in  97. "fatha figure" and "From long beach to bay",, teh otehr versions were just remixed or altered.

that's not even two different songs, the verses are exactly the same. only the hook changes and the ad-libs at the end on "from long beach to the bay".

sems like Snoop recored teh vocals for JT, and JT scattered teh vocals on 2 different tracks. so i count them as legit tracks.. teh other versions after that dont have anythin new from Snoop, the beats were just remixed or altered,--> like "Game trump tight"on the Eyez on tha prize ost

Yeah theres another version to called "trump tight" if i recall. I actually own the Heat compilation and that 4080 compilation and i remember the beat and hook is different and Snoops verse is a bit longer in the 4080 version. i own another album it was a double cd movie sound track i think the album was called "trump tight" and that was the third version i had heard but if i recall in this one JT did a new verse and other rappers were in the song too. Plus they had a Snoop sample from "still a g thing" as the chorus.
Ah here it is;(the album) "keep your eyez on the prize" http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=1058793&style=music
You cant hear the song there though.
