Jackson Fallout: Family & Friends Jump To His Defense

Fallout continues from the Michael Jackson documentary that aired on ABC as his friends and ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley, come to his defense over questions about his parenting, his relationships with children and plastic surgery.

Lisa Marie stands by her ex. During a Los Angeles radio interview on Feb. 10, she talked candidly about calling Michael at home, telling him he was duped. "That's not the person I knew so I called and said, 'Dude, that's messed up,'" said Presley on the radio.

And Michael's older brother Jermaine, outraged at the accusations, spoke out on FOX News Channel. "That whole special was meant to tear him apart. The way it was narrated was not fair."

In Atlanta at the NBA All-Star game, Michael was also embraced.

Usher: Well, I think I've accepted Michael Jackson for the kind, giving, loving-hearted person that he is and I don't want to know the negative. I don't really want to pay attention to the negative. It's unfortunate that if this is a situation that is just being perpetuated to be something that it's really not, it's really negative for him, especially for his fans.

LL Cool J: My feelings about Michael Jackson are simple. I think that he's a human being like everyone else and that that guy was, you know, trying to make a career out of disrespecting Mike. I'm a huge fan of Michael and nobody's perfect. And you know what, if he did get plastic surgery or if he didn't, what does that matter to that interviewer, like why is that his issue?

Chris Kirkpatrick: It's really hard, you know, to watch Michael Jackson and to have people who don't really know him saying all these things about him. That's Michael, you know, that's somebody that we respected. We grew up idolizing him, you know.

Nelly: I think there is a lot of people trying to judge Mike for something. And they have no idea what it's like to be a child star at age 9 and never have a life. You can't take away all the accomplishments and the musical creativity that he has brought to this game -- period. There's nothing more else to be said.
