Darkwing Duck (The Reincarnation)

your favorite soundtrack?
« on: August 26, 2012, 04:00:13 AM »
just saw the Wu-Tang "movei soundtrack"-thread, so i had to make this real quik.
lets talk about OST's.
dont necessarily have to be related to hiphop per say,

Blade II ---> easily my fav OST of all time. electro &  dubstep-infused hiphop wit replay-value. Mos Def had a song wit Massive Attack,
Cypress Hill wit Roni Size, The Roots wit BT,  etc etc.. alota of weird collabos like taht, and most of them matched in an uncoditional way,,
urge u to check it

Judgment Night --> awesome, sure most of yall might be familiar wit this. the movie sucked btw, but the soundtrack served like a mishmash between rock, metal, punk and grunge with hiphop for the first time (even tho groups like RunDMC n Publice Enemy had dabbled into it earlier).   one of the more important releases in hiphop through a musical standpoint (even tho it doesnt seem to be hailed as such). there was even a song wit Pearl Jam and Cypress Hill (!!).

Threadstarter mentioned some soundtracks I definitely have to check out.  Like Blade I need to check out, and Ghost Dog I've been meaning to check out cause I know the Score from the movie was dope so the soundtrack has to be good, here are my top 5 all-time...

1.  The Show Soundtrack-  This was the best hip-hop documentary ever made in my opinion.  Because it was made in raps golden age and also the golden age for the West Coast and featured Death Row and Warren G and so on.  Also out East it featured the legendary Wu-Tang clan.  They actually tricked me into buying the album by having names like Snoop Dogg on there as artists when really it was just a quote of his from the film, lol.   But it ended up being one of the best purchases I ever made.  I bumped that soundtrack all summer the summer of 96' (the best time of my life).  2pac had a one of his most touching tracks on that album "My Block".  Jayo Felony had his biggest banger ever on that album with "Zoom Zoom Wamm Wamm".   Bone made a solid contribution, Warren G and the Twinz did their thing, so did Tray Dee put down a dope cut.  Then the greatest summer joint of all time "Summertime in the LBC" by the Dove Shack.   Too many dope tracks to mention.

2.  Murder Was The Case

3.  Above the Rim

4.  Slam Soundtrack-  This movie is truly a one of a kind.  Celebrating the power of the word to change a persons life.  It's kind of like a hip-hop version of a musical.  "I Dare You" by Black Rob is some of the hardest shit I ever heard, while the Goodie Mob joint with Esthero on there offers an enchanting cut that stimulates the mind like only Goodie Mob can.  Solid contributions by Wu-Tang and Nore as well, and excerpts from the film.

5.  Jason's Lyric -  More of an R&B flavor on this one, although it was sort of a hip-hop version of a Romeo and Juliet type of movie.  One of my top 3 favorite movies of all time.  Classic R&B joints on this one from KC and Brian McKnight.   Also a couple classic cuts by no-name artists.  Warren G makes a solid contribution with a dope 5 Footaz joint on there and a decent Twinz cut.   Ahmad has a decent joint on there.   Then there's that coming of age track that opens the album.  Good soundtrack and even better movie.
Givin' respect to 2pac September 7th-13th The Day Hip-Hop Died

(btw, Earth 🌎 is not a spinning water ball)
