Fav. Jay-Z album?
« on: February 18, 2003, 11:28:03 AM »
Mine is his debut album Reasonable Doubt, a stone cold classic which is easily one of the best hip-hop albums of all time. This album captures Jay-Z at his lyrical peak and shows why he is considered so highly among the finest MCs this hip-hop game has had to offer, ever.

I've listed each and every one of his solo albums including the R. Kelly collabo album "Best Of Both Worlds". Take your pick.

Reasonable Doubt fa sure, that was by far Jigga's best album.

After that the only two I consider worthy of picking up are The Blueprint and MTV:Unplugged, although the latter is only really dope because of the amazing job The Roots do of recreating Jigga's songs with live instruments.

The Blueprint. Nothing in hip-hop had been soulful enough to actually fucking move me since Quik's Rhythmalism until that came out. Reasonable Doubt is certainly second, but Blueprint was the first time I had no doubts about putting the word classic next to a Jigga CD.

blueprint was tight but not classic like Reasonable Doubt.

Jay Z's flow in Reasonable doubt is crisp and amazing.

I think the only reason people see Blueprint as "soulful" cuz all of the songs come from old classic funky songs
