I thought Survivor Series was crap actually

Match quality - I don't think the WWF will ever top '97

1997 was one of the worst WWF years ever in terms of wrestling.  Compare Survivor Series of 97 and 2001 and youll see what I mean.   97 you had Boriquas, DOA, LOD, and other REALLY bad talent.

oh yeah heres sny artical about lawler that I got in a newsletter

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (TRP) — Over the past few days, a rumor has run rampant
that Jerry "The King" Lawler would return to the announcing booth with
the World Wrestling Federation this Monday night on WWF RAW.  He has
addressed the situation in his most recent commentary, found edited
below:

WOW!  Isn't the Internet wonderful?  Once again, it seems I am
the topic of a lot of Internet rumors and speculation...but as someone
might say [DDP], I guess "that's a good thing!"  It is certainly better
to be on the minds and mouths of wrestling fans than to be forgotten and
ignored.  So, once again, I will try my best to let you all know what is
going on with the "King."

The XWF is a brand new organization that held their initial
tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida on the 13th and 14th of
November.  The talent list was pretty incredible with names like Hulk
Hogan, Roddy Piper, Kurt Henning, Jimmy Hart, Bobby Heenen, Gene
Okerland, The Nasty Boys, The Road Warriors, Rena and Mark Mero, and the
list went on and on!  Everything about the tapings and the organization
is first rate all the way, and I have no doubts that the XWF is going to
be a serious contender in the world of wrestling.  I think that
everyone, including the WWF, wants another wrestling company in
business.  I've always said, "You can't be number one, unless there is a
number two."  The XWF is not going to be on the same level as the WWF
coming out of the box, but given time, with what I saw at the tapings,
this company can definitely be successful.  With that said, now let's
talk about today's rumors and speculation.

After Thursday's SmackDown! and Paul Heyman's "shoot" interview, I
guess a lot of people are assuming he won't be doing commentary anymore.
That would leave one to figure that I would fill that opening.  Well,
all I can tell you is that it is 10:45 am on Saturday morning, November
17, 2001, and I have no deal or contract with the WWF whatsoever.  So,
what will happen?  Your guess is as good as mine.  What will happen at
Survivor Series?  Your guess is as good as mine.  Will Paul Heyman still
be the announce on Raw Monday night?  Your guess is as good as mine.  If
a call came to me from the WWF could I get out of my deal with the XWF?
That's one question where my guess is better than yours.  After the
tapings Wednesday night in Orlando, I had a long meeting with the
officials of the XWF.  We came to the agreement that should I be offered
a position with the WWF and I chose to accept it, that they would not
hold me to my contract.  They appreciated my participation in their
inaugural tapings and expressed their interest in my continuing on with
the XWF.  But being the class act that these guys are, they gave me the
freedom to make my choice.  That is one of the reasons I know the XWF is
going to be successful...the people that run the organization are not
only good businessmen, they are good people.  They are sincere in their
efforts to do the right thing not only with business but with talent as
well.

So what will happen as far as the King is concerned?  Once
again, your guess is as good as mine.  That's one of the great things
about this business...trying to figure out what is going to
happen...trying to guess who is going to do what.  Ya gotta love it!
Stay tuned!
