Computer software for making beats

Does anyone know the names of any good programs and about how much they cost?  I've got the Acid Pro 3.0 studio and I rap over instrumentals that I loop, but I want to make my own beats...

Fruity Loops 3.4...Thats what I used...U can get it for free from Kazza...If you wanna peep any of my beats to see how good it is, go to "The Lab"...PeACe

I hear its the best program around for making beats....
its pretty hot
