AMD XP 1600+

im updating my celeron-433 computer to a totaly new one .... i got now 40gb hard drive, 256ram and geforce2 32mb ...the last part to buy is the cpu .. shaould i buy pentium 4 or amd ... cuz i heard that a amd 1600+ (1.37ghz) is knockin pentium 1.8 to the ground.. as matter of fact, is comparable to a pentium 1.8/1.9ghz ...

can anybody help me with this??

AMD KICK THE SHIT OUTTA A PENTIUM

I WUNDT SAY A AMD 1.3 IS FASTER THAN A 1.9 PENTIUM

BUT A 1.5 AMD IS FASTER THAN A 1.7 PENTIUM


PLUS - AMD'S CAN B CLOCKED FASTER THAN A PENTIUM

take a look at http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/01q4/011031/index.html, comparison of all the new AMD chips versus the P4s including benchmarks head to head - AMD came out the winner.
