So Xzibit wrote Snoop's verse on Lay Low and Kurupt..
« on: April 23, 2013, 07:47:47 AM »
wrote the hook for "Bitches Ain't Shit", which supposedly was a opening line that was turned into a hook and Snoop was the one who got to say it.

Short Juan Epstein videos, for those of you familiar with Juan Ep..

Talks about

- New direction to "Lion" & a possible return of "Dogg"
- His latest album having writers (not really a suprise i suppose)
- Dogg Pound working on new material
- Clarifying the Nas & 2pac story
- Lack of Grammy wins

Etc.

possible return?!?!

Well, that's what they asked him. Cuz according to Snoop he differentiates the 2. The question was if he would
return to Dogg, musically, as in rapping or rapping that gangsta shit or if he would forever stay the way he is now or even
balance the 2.

Watch the video for his his response.

I didn't feel like listening to the whole 30+ minute interview, but it didn't really seem like he touched on the Pac-Nas confrontation when I found the segment that brought that up between when they were talking about Will Smith and then the Grammys.

Yeah i agree with all of you ^

But it's weird. Snoop can actually rhyme tho just listening to him freestyling, which was one of many reasons ppl
wanted to see you freestyle back in hip-hop's early days especially when they saw situations like Caz and Sugar Hill gang thing and so on. A regular thing in the industry.

It may just be that Snoop can rhyme words for fun or like a convo but cant really write full 16x3's (3 verses) and stuff. Snoop might've just been a marketable, entertaining, "it-factor" having guy
who had alot of help. It is a business at the end of the day. Every entertainer in the ent business is a business, not an artist, despite what you guys think.

But on the other hand it happens in the industry alot. There is no one, literally one, that calls themselves writers that can sit and write for years without having everything sounding repetetive or just lacking new ideas. No matter how good you are it's a regular thing in the industry. Ppl help with ideas, sometimes write songs, sometime help create ideas, sometimes co-writes or whatever. It's harder for rappers than ppl think. When you're a singer what you're essentiall selling is your voice. Most ppl care more about delivery and the voice than what they talk about, hence why they have ppl write for them. When it's rock it's more about the instrumentals. With rap what you're selling is your words. Not anyone else's just yours for years, everyday and for every album.

Even a comedian have writers, doesn't mean they haven written anything but doesn't make them less of a comedian if they never did.

But with hip-hop it's hard. With someone like Snoop is even harder considering that some believe ppl ghostwrote his early material as well so it's hard to give thoughts on this. But some might just give him a pass considering that Snoop never was a lyricist per se, he was more flow/style/delivery with a fresh sound.
