D&D Studios Closes Down
Friday - March 7, 2003

They say all great things must come to an end. Effective March 1st, D&D Studios has officially closed it’s doors. Easily hip-hop’s most distinguished studio, the sound of New York hip-hop was defined in the walls of D&D.

The studios owners, Dave Lotwin and Doug Grama, closed D&D in favor of focusing on their label of the same name. "We're just really concentrating on the label at this point," said Lotwin. "The studio business as you know, over the years has really changed and we found that our resources are better concentrating on the label and getting that done."

The decision to close the studio was made some time ago, but they kept it open until out of respect to Primo. They waited until Primo was finished in the studio and headed on the road for their tour. D&D Records is relocating in Brooklyn and there will be a pro tools room in the new facility for mainstays such as Primo, Alchemist, Mr. Walt, Evil Dee and Tony Touch.
