if a song is produced by someone what does it mean?

a producer is the one who plays the majority of synthetic instruments in the song and hooks up with live instrument performers, in short, a producer makes a beat.

executive producer supervises the whole LP, like who gonna be on it and which beats and in what kinda order and shit


I kinda feel what Amaru says, here in Russia a producer is called an arranger and an exec is just a producer, a director is a regisseur and so on.
