Rocked the mic at a club here in the Midwest....
« on: June 26, 2013, 08:49:58 AM »
Yo... the homie IslamInevitable that posts here, moved like 3 hours North of me, to Omaha.  I don't like performing in my own city (Kansas City) but as ya'll know I went and did that street corner busking thing, freestyling for change in St. Louis.

Well anyway this time I was in Omaha the other night with IslamInevitable.  We are always freestyling when we are together so we said, "Fuck it, let's go rock some mics".  So we went to a bar that was doing Open Mic and rocked it...num sayin!?

Yo.. we were like big time renegades.  Because the club was this small, white, cornfed joint.  A few comedians got up and mostly told perverted jokes about their dick and masturbating, and meth usage.  Next.. from out of nowhere we bumbrushed the stage rocking rhymes about Palestine, Allah, Jinns, and self-identity.  All freestyle, I was rocking rhymes about all the previous performers and everyone in the audience.

So that's the story.  No, I couldn't record myself and rap at the same time, it was my first time on stage rhyming so I had to just focus on that.  But next time I'll pass the video camera to somebody.

Why don't you like performing in your city?

That is too bad. Why do you think that is?

I noticed you mentioned Jinns, what are your thoughts on that/those?

My history here.  I've been through a lot of shit (good and bad, and in between) around KC.  I also have a lot of history with people and work and so on.

One of my alter-ego's as a rapper is Mekkan Refugee.  He was basically a poet for tribe of Ottoman warriors (ancestors of Kayi tribe of Osman Bey) back in roughly the 17th Century, but he was entranced by the beauty of a sultry songstress and she turned out to be a jinn and possessed him, it was a case of bi-location as he was sent to live out the rest of his days in the body of a man named Brian in 21rts century Midwest, USA.  Where he will live the remainder of his days unless the spell is broken.

So you are saying you are a jinn re-incarnated?
How did this revelation come to you?
How can the spell be broken? Doesn't your faith warn against magic like this?

I am not sure about previous lives but if there is such a thing I have often thought/felt I have lived as Napoleon Bonaparte before.
But it really doesn't matter since I am happy being myself and focus on that.

No.. it was a case of bi-location not reincarnation.   This revelation came to Mekkan Refugee as he was freestyling on street corners of the Midwest.  He does not yet know how the spell can be broken.  And the faith supports it, as the Qu'ran discusses the jinn and jinn have been a part of Arab and Muslim folklore for centuries, just ask Arabian Nights.

Could you please elaborate on your concept of bi-location?

Not sure if you are serious about this or making a joke.
If you are serious I think you should be careful.

nah, i mean his descriptions about the place he was in lets me know dudes got issues, among other things lol.  "white", like thats some pejorative when this dude is white as a loaf of bread.  just seems like hes got self identity issues (hatred) that he projects onto his own race of people which you can read in his posts on here.

seems like an intelligent person in some aspects, just w issues i guess.

As I result of my b-ilocation I find solace in the story of the narrator in Al-Tayyib Salih's "Season of Migration to the North".  As Mustafa Sa'eed serves as a doppelgänger of the narrator.

And yes, I should have been more careful.
