Get Home Safely is dropping soon.  Where is the anticipation thread on this forum for it?  It's going to be a mainstream release through Best Buy and iTunes, not some underground, niche album.

That's why I  ::) when some posters claim we older posters are stuck in the past.  If that were so, Dom would be hella talked about around here, because Dom's sound is very 90s Westcoast.

For me personally, I think a lot of these new West artists don't get a lot of traction, because they're just not very good.  When a guy like K Dot signs with Dr. Dre, I pay attention because I hope Dre can make me like his music, not because I'm inherently a fan of Kendrick Lamar.  And that explains why Kendrick and others don't get a lot of traction before the Dre/Snoop co-sign.

Really hoping Get Home Safely lives up to his previous work.
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

Yeah, but Game's shit with JT just didn't sound very good. He was one of my favorite rappers at one point but a lot of the JT shit isn't even bumpable. The Dre Co-sign is obviously huge, though. I wonder how many people would have even given guys like Bishop Lamont a chance.

I get it. That was some slapped together, uninspired music. But, I see some of these terrible Rappers from the 90s getting a lot of love on here and the sound of what Game and JT were doing was on par, if not better than some of that crap.

That's the point of this topic. To get the conversation going. As far as today's rappers not being very good, please see what I wrote above this.

It's this forum. It needs to be Dre/Snoop related to get any traction. Game was the same way. Hardly any mention of him when he was signed to JT, then the Dre Co-Sign came and it exploded.

Yeah, but Game's shit with JT just didn't sound very good. He was one of my favorite rappers at one point but a lot of the JT shit isn't even bumpable. The Dre Co-sign is obviously huge, though. I wonder how many people would have even given guys like Bishop Lamont a chance.

cmon man, you just did not compare the game with kendrick.

honestly without dre, the game would of never gotten any publicity at the same level he has gotten. if this nigga never signed to aftermath, i would of never of listened to this guy. his skills are too lacking, and his verses are so redundant, and not to mention his atrocious name dropping.

but you guys are trippin, Kendrick had a lot of fans, OUTSIDE OF DUBCC, its DUBCC that has a hard time. of course i knew about kendrick, most people in LA that follow knew about Kendrick, i mean anyone that seen his work starting fromt he Kendrick Lamar E.P. couldnt help but be a fan.

and nah bishop wouldnt of came up, he wasnt marketable, Dre made the right choice this time, instead of trying to create talent, he recruited talent. big difference between the two.

same thing goes for the rest, i made about 2-3 threads of audio push (up and coming I.E. Rappers that made "teach me how to jerk" but did a complete 180 with their style) even one that pays Homage to Friday int heir music video,

how many views did it get? 30, while some shit about death row leaks that we probably all heard gets 450.

NOT EVEN THAT, people on here even lack to follow up on upcoming artists in general like : Tito Lopez, Black Hippy (Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick), Wale, Audio Push, Action Bronson, Underachievers, Capital Steez, Joey The Badazz, etc etc

check these vids for all the majority on the dubcc that my god is still stuck in the 90s, i love g-funk and i still bump it, but what the fuck? theres a lot of new material thats more than listenable. just be glad that whole crunk phase and lilwayne dick riding is over.

this is 100% true... he'd be in the same shoes as klientel right now without the dre co-sign. but dre is all about quality control...he could sign klientel and put out a classic album by him just like he did for game if he truly wanted. it's part of dre's genius.

yeah, but the funny thing is he doesnt do it for himself.

i seriously lost all interest in detox after i graduated from highschool, if it comes out it comes out, but i can careless when i see detox threads.

im just glad he moved away from that whole "kush" and that other track (cant even remember, didnt even download the track) that he came out with that was supposed to be "detox" singles

those were horrible, actually when i heard that thats when it was completely done for me, from then on i wasnt looking  forward to any "detox" tracks if they were sound anything similar to that.

I come here to just to browse when I'm bored, as far as new music threads I could care less If this forum is up to game with the new music because I know I am. I feel as though this forum needs to catch up to me and very few here as far as new west artist is concerned. This forum is a time capsule and I learned to accept that so I don't give fuck if y'all want to stay 20 years behind. Sure I love the old west coast scene and those are my roots but I also evolved with this generation and I'm loving this west coast scene even if y'all ain't up on it. I am and that's all that matters. A few ero heads don't dictate the movement that's been going on out here and won't. EuroS get the news threw the Internet, Cali heads get the music first, y'all just late or haven't got the news yet. It ain't my fault, I've been telling y'all about dom Kennedy and so on, some of y'all are just catching on. If dubcnn don't promote it then take it from some of the posters here, but naw, y'all rather wait for a Dre co sign, SMH.

cmon man, you just did not compare the game with kendrick.

The Game with JT = Kendrick as K.Dot. Raw. Just rapping because you can. No real direction. Little to no hype. In the case of K.Dot, he became Kendrick Lamar and things started changing. The Game, on the other hand, got signed before any evolution could happen on it's own. Still, at least to me, a worthy comparison.

I guess this section is somewhat on the upswing. There are only six or seven Dre/Snoop/Tupac threads on the first page. Usually there are close to twenty with the other threads being about Bishop Lamont, Eazy-E, & random Kurupt, DPG & Death Row threads.

I completely skipped over this post. But, I definitely agree. Dom is a throw back. His flow. His vibe. Hell, even look at his album. Back in the day, features were kept at a minimum. And, that's what he's doing. Props.

but dom is like the westcoast big sean,

his verses are really elementary and simple, i mean if you really listen closely, you say to yourself, "da fuck..."

i mean im a fan of his, but his lyrical talent.....well its non existent. some songs he does put in work, but a lot of it is like Dom kennedy - 1997, its a dope beat, i sitll bump the songs, but just listen bro, if you really listen when your high, im sure its gonna give you some chuckles.
