Personally I wouldn't call him a legend but he's one of the only big name producers I hear about still innovating and keeping a balance of artistic integrity and hit makerTalented all rounder who's staying fresh even after years in the game
id been very familiar with him through out the rap a lot cat a log but i thought he was just a inhouse engineer type dude...the first time i really started to check for him though was way before daz it was on the beat mary jane...that beat imo is one of the top ten beats ever made in this genre EVER. i thought it was very wierd that dude was so interactive on dpg as he used to be....i assumed even on dilinger and young gotti he was still doing more of an engineer type role as at this time i actually believed daz was a somewhat competent producer come to find out dean was actually the heart of that albums whole sound hes like the gangsta rap rick rubin or some shit.

Mike Dean should not even be on any "greatest" list. Unless it is a list for "greatest assholes" of rap music, for him joking about stealing reals and shit from Death Row. Wish Suge would have beat his ass for that. Who is Mike Dean to steal from Death Row?
hes like the gangsta rap rick rubin or some shit.
