Not a huge R&B guy, No Diggity by Blackstreet was pure heat though 8)

That was the first time Dre resurfaced on TV after leaving Death Row. I still remember the first time I saw that video. I was expecting BIG THANGS from Dre after he went to go form Aftermath. He first came with "East Coast/West Coast Killaz" and still consider that to be the most timely and under-rated rap song/video of all-time. Somehow the album ended up falling short of expectations and it would be a few years before Aftermath would really blow up.

Might as well.

1. 112 - Only You
2. Shai - If I Ever Fall In Love
3. K-Ci and JoJo - All My Life
4. Boyz II Men - End of the Road
5. Aaliyah - At Your Best (You Are Loved)
6. Bell Biv DeVoe - Poison
7. Monica - Angle of Mine
8. Jon B. - Pretty Girl
9. SWV - Weak
10. Whitney Houston - I Have Nothing

Bonus: Mariah Carey - Fantasy, Blackstreet - Before I Let You Go, Color Me Badd - I Adore Mi Amore.

Writing this list gave me flash backs of old school TDK tapes.

All great list

Good to see threadstarter given props to Jodeci. Apparently from my KC and JoJo appreciation thread other people at the forum seem to think the likes of Kieth Sweat and even Lucy Pearl are more important than the likes of Jodeci.

Here's my top 10 off the dome

1. "All My Life" KC and JoJo
2. "Last Night's Letter" KC and JoJo
3. "Now and Forever" KC and JoJo
4. "If You Think Your Lonely Now" - KC of Jodeci
5. "Anytime" - Brian McKnight
6. "Why I Love You So Much" - Monica
7. "Before You Walk Out My Life" - Monica
8. "I Belong To You" Rome
9. "I'm Ready" - Tevin Campbell
10. "Breathe Again" Toni Braxton

You can create a top 10 on just K-Ci and Jo Jo alone, or Boyz II Men. Damn, R&B has fallen off HARD.

In no particular order...plus i could probably add another 100 to this haha

SWV - Anything (Wu-Tang Clan Remix)
SWV - Right Here
Janet Jackson - That's the way love goes
Aaliyah - Back & Forth
Ralph Tresvant - Sensitivity
Boyz 2 Men - Mowtown Philly
Bel Biv Devoe - Poison
112 - Hold Me
Monica - The First Night
Jonestown - Sweet Thing

raphael saadiq - ask of you
tony toni tone - feels good
tony toni tone - just me & you
tony toni tone - whatever you what
troop - all i do
keith sweat - twisted
keith sweat - nobody
mariah carey - always be my baby
mariah carey - fantasy
mary j. blige - real love
mary j. blige - everything
monica - angel of mine
xscape - softest place on earth

in no order:

zhane - hey mr. dj
h town - knockin' the boots
swv - anything rmx
swv - so into you
mary j. blige - goin' down
mary j. blige - remind me
total - can't you see
faith evans - soon as I get home
112 - love me
702 - steelo
adina howard - freak like me
jodeci - can i talk to you
swv - you're the one

Didn't include any D'Angelo or Erykah Badu since that Neo-Soul sound is something I'd make a seperate for.

I did the same thing. I was tempted to. I made my wife and R&B playlist and it is mainly Neo-Soul. That's her stuff. I'm more of a traditional R&B myself. Still, I got love for the Neo-Soul movement and all the great music it produced.

Props to everyone making a list. There are even some tracks I don't know yet. Next step: compiling a list of the top 50 90's RnB songs from all the above-mentioned. 8)

Don't get me wrong, I love some Neo Soul albums. D'Angelo, Erykah Badu and of course Lauryn Hill dropped some of the altogether best Neo Soul/RnB albums of that time It's just not the sound I initially think of since I grew up on that New Jack Swing.

i didn't say Jodeci homie, just K-Ci & Jojo, here you go twisting my words, and I didn't say Lucy Pearl was more important than Jodeci wtf lol I just cited Lucy Pearl among the countless quality projects Raphael Saadiq has helmed. good list btw, albeit a bit repetitive. jodeci is one of my very favorite rnb groups, I just happen to like other artists outside of them. i've been playing their first album in my car over the past week.

that's true and that's why I did not include songs of a same artist twice in my lists, but when I said "forever my lady" I might as well have picked any Jodeci song, same for R. Kelly, dude has just too many slaps

a NJS song I forgot to include that i've always loved 8) http://www.youtube.com/v/-Rj3ZAPlBtE

Tried to not include any1 already mentioned

Think it's problematic to seperate Neo Soul etc, from R&B, but I'll try. So I left out the greats like Maxwell and Will Downing, Angie Stone etc pp

anyway this might look pretty random now

johnny gill - my,my,my
shola ama - you might need somebody
joe - all the things
dru hill - tell me
tony rich project- hey blue
eric benet - spend my time with you
kevon edmonds feat. babyface - a girl like you
case - more to love
lalah hathaway - heaven knows
Montell Jordan - It's over
