Good to see threadstarter given props to Jodeci.  Apparently from my KC and JoJo appreciation thread other people at the forum seem to think the likes of Kieth Sweat and even Lucy Pearl are more important than the likes of Jodeci.

i didn't say Jodeci homie, just K-Ci & Jojo, here you go twisting my words, and I didn't say Lucy Pearl was more important than Jodeci wtf lol I just cited Lucy Pearl among the countless quality projects Raphael Saadiq has helmed. good list btw, albeit a bit repetitive. jodeci is one of my very favorite rnb groups, I just happen to like other artists outside of them. i've been playing their first album in my car over the past week.

You can create a top 10 on just K-Ci and Jo Jo alone, or Boyz II Men.

that's true and that's why I did not include songs of a same artist twice in my lists, but when I said "forever my lady" I might as well have picked any Jodeci song, same for R. Kelly, dude has just too many slaps

a NJS song I forgot to include that i've always loved  8) <a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/-Rj3ZAPlBtE" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/-Rj3ZAPlBtE</a>

nice list, but lol ... i wouldnt exactly call great r&b songs "slaps", if ya kno what i mean

Truth be told I never listened to US R&B back in the 90's, I guess the younger me didn't appreciate the slower pacing or something (actually I still can't get into American 90's RnB, just not my cup of tea I guess). Anyway almost all of the few RnB songs (if you can call them that) I listened to were from Japan (on a sidenote, I can't find any of the songs I wanted to embed on YouTube so I was stuck with cover versions/the same artist's newer/older work to serve as placeholders, then again I doubt any of you will give a fuck).

Edit: I found the ONE US RnB song I was able to enjoy until Usher started screaming "Yeah!" at everybody...

Writing this list gave me flash backs of old school TDK tapes.

Oh shit, think I still have a copy of the chronic on one of these, lol.

 8) classic song. G-Funk had a strong influence on mainstream urban music in France back in the mid-90's.

K-Mel, the rapper on the song, released an album in 2001 with collaborations with Nate Dogg and one with Warren G lol (a remix of I Want It All). He evens appears in the Game Don't Wait Remix video for like one second lmao.
