On the real, this drops the same day as COD: Ghosts doesn't it? I keep seeing the COD trailer on TV with the Em song

Should we even be saying this is a studio album, or is it purely a marketing gimmick?

How would this not be considered a studio album?

As for naming this album what he did, it's because he's covering the same topics he did in 2000 but from a new perspective. 13 yrs later, and after the ups and downs of all those years. This is one of those rare circumstances where there is actually some substance behind the sequel naming convention.

I haven't heard the album all the way through, so don't have an opinion of it. But 21 tracks deep plus the Buckshot joint (22 tracks total) is a great value for 13 bucks or whatever. Looking forward to listening to it

Em is hilarious. Some of the lyrics might be off (some are hard to understand) but the punch lines are clear.
Em comes up with shit I never heard. Stays fresh.

The flow and the rhymes are a rapper on the top of his game.
I actually like the production, it's different to what I expected but Eminem adapts his flows so many times that it just fits.

It seems like the majority think this either sucks or are at best lukewarm about it, but for me this is a keeper

I've heard the select few tracks that have leaked but am holding out for Tuesday when I will buy it and give it a proper listen.  I have confidence that I will enjoy it since Eminem albums are always entertaining listens and he's got great flows and ridiculously clever lyrics most of the time.

This album grew on me besides that track where he sings thats the only one I skipped. the first time I skimmed through this I was like wtf is this shit. But after a long cruise on the hwy today with it tuned up I truly enjoyed it.... In my opinion its better then that wack ass recovery but not as good as Relapse.

He's back ya'll. I've been an Eminem fan since 1999 but went off him with Recovery which I thought was wack. Didn't even really anticipate this album, so I just DL'd it expecting it to be trash. I really really hated all the screaming on Recovery and the singles didn't let me to believe that this has changed.

First up, let's get the negatives out of the way. Eminem still cannot sing to save his life. He can get away with some laid back singing like on "Kim", but when he belts a chorus it is downright unlistenable. He does that enough times on this album to drag it down quite a bit. Also, some of these corny beats...SMH.

With that out of the way, let's appreciate the pure genius of this man. He's more than 40 years old and frankly you'd be hard pressed to find a single album in hop-hop history that can compete with this when it comes to pure flow and rhyming skills. *ANY* fan of hip-hop HAS to be able to appreciate that or you're just a simple hater.

Another positive is that this album is actually both very creative and innovative, which is also some accomplishment for someone who has been in the game for so long. Overlook the terribleness of pop single "The Monster" or the Recovery souding "Survival". Most of the rest of the album Eminem just goes OFF on all sort of beats with all sorts of flows and crazy ass rhymes.

Early faves: Evil Twin, Bad Guy, Legacy, Asshole.

If you swap out "Survival", "The Monster", "Stronger Than I Was", "Berzerk" & "Asshole" with the bonus tracks, you'd have SOMETHING ELSE on your hands.

"Groundhog Day" is nuts.

There are some verses that are technically pretty good but overall this is a Top 40 oriented pop record and I'm not about that life.

Everybody peep Blue Chips 2 if you want good, entertaining hip hop.
