you obviously have to have some smarts in order to maintain earnings and not blow it all like some other names in this thread did, Snoop clearly has his mind right or the right team around him, either way it comes back to his intelligence and makes him a better businessman than most that were named in here

For a bland, generic and talentless person he's done pretty well for himself. He's got several TV gigs (mostly for Viacom), he's chairman of Nickelodeon (I think) and he's married to Mariah Carrey. If he was a dumb-ass he would've blown all of his money like MC Hammer or be in jail by now.

Hum... this is a simple list.

#1 Dr. Dre - he had the business mind and he knew his strengths and weaknesses. He did learn a lot, and his experience with Ruthless Records really taught him some things, but unlike many artist who get bitter and then shut down, Dre came back and now makes more money off head phones that he ever did music, and he made more on music than your favorite rapper or producer.

#2 Ice Cube - dude was smart from day one. His best move was just not signing that contract at age 19 with millions on the table. He made more when he married a girl from college and made her his manager. From there he was everywhere and he did it all. Cube was also one of the smartest with his lyrics and you can tell he knew a lot.

#3 2Pac - 2Pac was very well read. In 2Pac's case though, it's the great book smarts but little common sense. But there are people like that everywhere. But 'Pac knew tons about many subjects and got his point across.

#4 Ras Kass - dude made Nature of the Threat. Now common sense wise, he had very little of that. But his noodle was on point in many areas.

#5 Crooked I - on a more subject type intelligence, Crooked I would be an English major/poet. He would be a liberal arts students, don't know a lot about one thing, but knew a little about everything. But he knew rhymes and was about to get that knowledge out.
