My only problem with Tryeez is, that sometimes hes too fast for me. I wish he would slow it down from time to time

yup i don't like his uptempo tracks so much either but they're in the minority. he's got some real slow grooves too 8)

Are there any compilations that showcase artists mentioned above or new funk in general?

tokyo dawn records - the boogie & the boogie volume 2 are decent selections.

Thanks man! You are one of the best contributors to this site.

but to stick to the topic, a good modern funk band is "slapbak" from orange county, california...check them out...their bassist, vocalist and mastermind jara harris got mad skills!

Damn they were dope.
"We aint playin wid it" is dope ass hell

slapbak were more p-funk oriented though, not really modern funk in the traditional sense of the term, Fingaz was part of the band if i'm not mistaken, good shit

yap...i was thinkin about "new" funk in general...

there are some really dope songs in this topic  8)

Modern Funk/Synth Pop

Bruno Mars ripped that song :). Just another indicator how Funk is coming back. 2013 we had Get Lucky,Blurred Lines,Lose Yourself to Dance (Basically the whole Daft Punk album was very funky),Snoop Doing his thing with Dam-Funk.
People jumping on the Bandwagon..best example was the Daz mixtape. Alotta G-Funk producers (XL Middleton etc.) are switching over to Modern Funk/Boogie music.
