Major Explosions in Basra
« on: March 20, 2003, 05:33:17 PM »
We're talking major here, they can be seen from 50 kilometres away.  This is just breaking, one opinion I've heard is that the US have dropped one of their bombs designed to drop down into trenches (about 30 metres) and it has hit something that has set off a huge chain reaction.

Just a heads up, but there will probably be major explosions all over Iraq in the next couple of weeks.

I'm using the English spelling.
I respect that you spell colour - color so stop the attempts at cheap points scoring and lets move on.

The reason I posted this thread was that it was suspected at this early stage that the tracking system on the bomb didn't stop it hitting something underground and led to a massive chain of explosions - an unintended effect.  But you're right we're off and running and this is to be expected.
