so after some time with the album i like it a little more than the last but still not as much as fancy footwork. probably due to the fact they're doing in a more epic pop direction than sticking with the pure funk jams. of the unheard material i like 'lost on the way home' & 'somethingood' the most.

'lost on the way home' is a mad chills type of record, big 80s synth pop groove feel with a great rhythm. very chill 8)

'somethingood' is the grooviest track, this is what i want to hear and the closest to anything resembling the fancy footwork sound.

all in all there are no bad tracks. everything is expertly produced and funky, just it gets a little too poppy & ballad like at times. PM for further details.

Nice. I'll check this out.

I'm really loving some of the official/unofficial remixes though like this one.

funky soundtrack for your summer ride! sure this new LP can't touch Fancy Footwork but it has dope cuts showing P and Dave's consistency.

"Over your Shoulder" is perfection. Inspiration may come from Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers and that infectious guitar riff.
The Chromeo recipe works on "Jealous", "Come Alive" (in spite of a lazy guitar solo).
The second half of "Sexy Socialite" brings the song to another level where you can feel the pressure building.
Not impressed by "Lost On The Way Home" first. It's growing.
"Hard to Say No" is cool and i can't help thinkink of Magnum, PI theme  :).
Not as enthusiastic as you are on "Somethingood". It's groovy and all but the extended part at the end could have make it great whereas it totally downgrades it and makes it boring  :-\.
The final track, "Fall Back 2U" is extra dope. light disco strings, and when you think the song ends -badabing- the solo saxophone comes in and mingles perfectly with the vocoder. And those claps  8).

which track?

the first two albums are pretty damn funky straight through. this is definitely more pop inspired in its sound. i love it but it's not what was great about the earlier stuff. i'm more excited about that tuxedo funk LP than this i think

thanks for the comments dude. 'lost on the way home' is definitely one of my favorite vibes on here, it's got that night time feel which i always appreciate in a good jam. and yeah 'fall back 2u' is greatness. loving that now :D the ending is really epic but my favourite part is the groove break down @ 3:54 after all the sax and voicebox stuff 8) that's the kind of groove i associate chromeo with, nice and simple 8)

i'm not sure about this track especially the 'higher...higher' stuff but damn they made a funny video for it 8)

been bumpin the album lately, it definitely grew on me, some of the bridges / hooks are a bit poppy but the rythmic guitars and grooves are insane, especially on Something Good and Over Your Shoulder, definitely my two favorite songs
