Coasts are dead. You guys need to accept this. No one cares what side you rep. Music is music now.

it's not about repping, it's about music having regional sounds since the beginning of time. artists have been classified by region from the very start. this new age of inter-region, inter-sex, inter-everything is just blurring the lines and puttin a huge dent in the game.

he certainly has the money to make that happen

Dre doesn't have to pay to get artists to work with him... They wait there whole career for an opportunity to work with Dre, it's an honor and privilege and not about compensation.  Now, it's also possible they will get some points on the album and maybe get a cut that way.

Dre pays the artists that write for him even if the songs don't come out.

Few days ago someone asked Xzibit how much does he pay to Dre for a beat and X said he never trade a single dollar with Dre when it comes to the music. So I think this is partly confirmed.
I believe Dr.Dre should own Compton, Dr.Dre said X Man you're onto somethig...

You're talking about regional sounds. That was the big one for the west coast and its dead now. And imo that's a good thing. Because everyone hopping on the same sound dilutes the music and limits creativity.

G Funk is dead and it's not coming back.

DJ Mustard's sound is, among others (crunk, hyphy, mobb music), influenced by G-Funk. It's a modern take on G-Funk and his work on YG's album and his own album 10 Summers is a testament to that. And he's arguably the biggest producer in 2014. g funk may be dead as we used to know it but it's a modernised form of G-Funk and it's fine with me.

for homies, no doubt...when you're talking about session players like mike elizando and all others behind the scenes, they all get paid nicely.

actually, making everything sound the same is what dilutes music....but if you think that g-funk is the only sound of the west coast, then u havent listened to enough rap. sure, it was one of the staple sounds, but theres a whole lot more to the west coast than g-funk lol
