The song is awesome, in my opinion. Great flow throughout the track, entertaining and well written lyrics, great delivery and beat. Really like it. 8) There is only one thing that really distracted me, it's how Charlie's part kicks in. It doesn't flow very well at the part of the track and somehow feels misplaced for me. Don't know, maybe I'll give it some more spins.

Looking forward to the LP.

Whole album is great, and is probably the best solo project from Snoop since Tha Blue Carpet Treatment. Pharrell really delivers on the production - the concept of this album being "modern funk" is the cohesive thread throughout, but that's not to say everything sounds like "Peaches." That classic Snoop and P chemistry is alive and well, and the album probably has the most in common with "Let's Get Blown," as far as comparing the new music to their previous collaborations. Personally, I think the record with Stevie and P might be Snoop's best shot at capturing that elusive Grammy...
"Shit ain't all peaches and cream, and I ain't Sara Lee, bitch!" - Lloyd Banks

"I'm Morpheus in this Hip-Hop Matrix, exposing fake shit." - Common

"With consecutive platinum hits, I up my status. Ain't no more Calvin Broadus!" - Snoop

"Look at all these conscious rappers - guess who influenced them?" - KRS One

Guess you have had the privilege of listening to the album then.

Any song like 'Pass it Pass it', from R&G on there?

Yeah, well, if Bush sounds like a R&G part 2 but without the gangsta lyrics, I'm fine with that.  My friend at the time said Let's Get Blown was like a cross between easy listening and hip hop in terms of cross-genre fusion.  It's a bit too light for me, but compared to Snoop's recent albums, that'll nevertheless still be a major improvement.  What was great about R&G was that it had a cohesive sound throughout, and this probably will, too.  I'm not expecting Snoop to talk about guns and so forth -- and that doesn't matter.  It's more about rhyming to the rhythm of the beat and not ruining good production with half-assed writing and vocal performances.  He'll probably do a lot of singing, too.  He's not much of even a true rapper anymore.  Anyway, this album has potential, and I'm just going to accept it on its own merits and not compare it to Doggystyle or anything like that.  People say we're stuck in the 90s musically -- not at all.  We just want good music like in the 90s.  That's the difference.

"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

This song is dope as fuck. That grown, smooth, soulful shit fits snoop like a glove. Snoops verses are strong, his flow is dope, Charlie adds an extra soul flavor to it and the beat is smooth, groovy & funky as fuck. Gonna be a summer staple  8)
Hyped as fuck for the album.
