Method Man, Pusha T and Lil Wayne are among the rappers included in the list.

“Still Waiting: 15 Veteran Rappers Who Never Dropped A Classic Album” is a new listed curated by HipHopWired that lists a collection of Rap’s elite who have never dropped a “classic” album.

“Let the people tell it, Kendrick Lamar is 2/2 in the classic album department, coming off the heels of his first No. 1 album in To Pimp a Butterfly,” the article says. “Which makes the number of OG rappers who never dropped a classic album that more glaring.

“Don’t take it as a diss,” the piece adds. “Take it as a challenge.”

Included in the list is Method Man, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss and Rick Ross.

Towards the top of the list is Pusha T, who released his long-in-the-making debut solo studio album My Name Is My Name in late 2013. Pusha is now eyeing up a spring release for his sophomore album King Push.

“'Unorthodox' has become synonymous with Pusha T’s music, back to records like 'Grindin,’” Pusha said in an interview with Rolling Stone last December. “Everybody’s gonna be really locked in and shocked to see how I’ve raised the level of musicality from My Name Is My Name to King Push."

Weighing in at the top of the list is Young Money’s Lil Wayne. Weezy’s Tha Carter IV, the latest in the Carter series, sold over 950,000 units in its first week on the shelves making it one of 2011’s best selling albums. However, his Tha Carter V has suffered from a series of public label issues, resulting in Wayne wanting to reportedly sue Cash Money Records’ CEO Birdman for $51 million.

"Being shunned either does one of two things to a man," HipHopWired writes. "Weezy obviously hasn’t given up so expect him to keep tinkering with his long-delayed Carter V so he’s not apologizing again on a new mixtape."

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Wayne described the project as being completely finished.

"Cake baked, icing on top, name on top, candles lit," Wayne says about his Tha Carter V. "I would have released it yesterday if I could. But it's a dead subject right now. It's a jewel in the safe. It's that stash-house money."

Tical wasn't a classic lol solid album but far from classic, nowhere near the same level as the Wu solos from Rae, Ghost, and GZA

To me, Tical is a very solid album, but it's not a classic. A classic changes the game. Some rappers have multiple classics, like 2Pac. Some have that one classic that is the highlight to their career, like Jay-Z and Blueprint. Others started out with that classic and it launched them to stardom, like Snoop and Nas. But a classic is very hard to judge, and it's very hard to gauge. Music is art, and art is subjective. I think we get so caught up that an artist has to have a classic album to be taken serious, that we give the title classic to albums that may not be just to give an artist a classic album.

According to the Source, these albums are classics:

Quote
* Peoples Instinctive Travels & the Paths of Rhythm - A Tribe Called Quest
* Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em -- Eric B. & Rakim
* AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted -- Ice Cube
* Grip It! On That Other Level -- Geto Boys
* One for All -- Brand Nubian
* De La Soul Is Dead -- De La Soul
* The Low End Theory -- A Tribe Called Quest
* Run-D.M.C. -- Run-D.M.C.
* Radio -- LL Cool J
* Licensed to Ill -- Beastie Boys
* Raising Hell -- Run-D.M.C.
* Criminal Minded -- Boogie Down Productions
* Paid in Full -- Eric B. & Rakim
* By All Means Necessary -- Boogie Down Productions
* It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back -- Public Enemy
* Long Live the Kane -- Big Daddy Kane
* Critical Beatdown -- Ultramagnetic MCs
* Straight Out the Jungle -- Jungle Brothers
* Strictly Business -- EPMD
* The Great Adventures of Slick Rick -- Slick Rick
* Straight Outta Compton -- N.W.A.
* No One Can Do It Better -- The D.O.C.
* Breaking Atoms -- Main Source
* Death Certificate -- Ice Cube
* The Diary -- Scarface
* Doggystyle -- Snoop Doggy Dogg
* The Chronic -- Dr. Dre
* Illmatic -- Nas
* Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) -- Wu-Tang Clan
* The Infamous -- Mobb Deep
* Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... -- Raekwon
* Me Against the World -- 2Pac
* Ready to Die -- The Notorious B.I.G.
* Reasonable Doubt -- Jay-Z
* All Eyez on Me -- 2Pac
* Life After Death -- The Notorious B.I.G.
* The Score -- The Fugees
* Aquemini -- Outkast
* 2001 -- Dr. Dre
* The Blueprint -- Jay-Z
* Stillmatic -- Nas
* The Fix -- Scarface
* The Naked Truth -- Lil' Kim
* Trill OG -- Bun B
* My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy -- Kanye West

And according to XXL these albums are classics:

Quote
* The Chronic by Dr. Dre
* Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) by Wu-Tang Clan
* Illmatic by Nas
* The Diary by Scarface
* The Infamous by Mobb Deep
* All Eyez on Me by 2Pac
* Reasonable Doubt by Jay-Z
* The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory by 2Pac
* Life After Death by The Notorious B.I.G.
* The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill
* 2001 by Dr. Dre
* The Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem
* The Blueprint by Jay-Z
* Get Rich or Die Tryin' by 50 Cent
* The Lost Tapes by Nas
* The College Dropout by Kanye West
* Be by Common
* Late Registration by Kanye West
* Hell Hath No Fury by Clipse
* My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West
* Life Is Good by Nas
* good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar

There is some cross over, and there is some differences. And fans of certain rapper will use the list that has their favorite rapper to justify their claims.

With all of that said, those on the list don't have albums in either list. As someone pointed out earlier, and I agree, Method Man has not put out an album as good as many Wu members solo albums. So would Tical still be a classic, or is Tical a very solid album which is a personal classic of Method Man? I think Carter III is a classic album, just because of the impact it had, but no major magazine seems to agree, so am I off base with that. It's not like it's even in my top 25 hip-hop albums, but the way people responded, it seemed to be on it's way to classic status. Though over time, the impact of that album is very minimal and it seems as a whole the Carter series is what people remember and not any actual Carter albums. But then does that make the whole series classic, or just a put of albums younger fans liked? Labeling things classic is very tricky.
