For our non academics: Anthropogenic - a $10 word for "Man made".
Yes, humans do play a role in it and capitalism is a human invention. If the writer insists on finding people to blame more than others, fine, but at this point it won't help fix the issue any more or less. Inciting readers and not offering constructive solutions however, is a hallmark tenet of politically biased "journalism". I'm going out on a limb here but my guess the website or magazine or whatever this article is sourced from is a heavy left leaning propaganda machine. I'm not judging them for it, every "ism" has to have their outlets, but just because it's published doesn't mean it necessarily deserves a whole lot of merit.
