‘Ouija 2′ Set for Oct. 21, 2016, Release Date

Universal Pictures is going back to the Ouija board and has set “Ouija 2″ for a Halloween season release on Oct. 21, 2016.

Blumhouse’s micro-budget original, starring Olivia Cooke, was released on Oct. 24 last year and performed strongly with $100 million in worldwide grosses.

The same set of producers will return — Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form; Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum and Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis. Blum has a first-look deal at Universal.

Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard (“Oculus”) wrote the screenplay, and Universal will distribute the film worldwide.
