Yes there is.

(LB x Y)/U = battery life

Laptop battery x the year of battery / use of said battery = battery life.

In other words the older the battery the less charge it will hold and how much you REALLY USE your battery (ie let battry drain to zero and recharge)

I tell ppl all the time dont keep you laptop plugged in alk the time cuz ur not using the battery. And if youbdont use it.... you lose it.
