Oh, Hulk Hogan. Even when you try to apologize, you still end up making things worse.

The Hulkster went on Good Morning America Monday morning to apologize and beg forgiveness for the multiple racist rants uncovered during his sex tape trial, including one where he said “I am a racist, to a point, f*cking n*ggers. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever.”

Hogan’s apology included him blaming the environment he was raised in, namely his old neighbourhood in Tampa:

People need to realize that you inherit things from your environment. And where I grew up was south Tampa, Port Tampa, and it was a really rough neighborhood, very low income. And all my friends, we greeted each other saying that word.

The … the environment I grew up in in south Tampa and all my white friends, all my black friends, to hear the word on a daily basis when they’d greet me in the morning, that’s what they’d say to me, ‘Good morning,’ so-and-so. I think that was part of the culture and the environment I grew up in and I think that’s fair to say.

Well, the people of Port Tampa don’t think it’s very fair at all, actually. Former neighbours and residents of the south Tampa neighbourhood expressed their disappointment to local news station WTSP 10:

Linda Bryant who grew up with Terry Bollea, the real name of the Hulk, says she never remembers hearing the N word. “That was not the culture when Terry grew up here,” says Bryant.

    Another neighbor agrees.

“There was a time this area was poor but we didn’t say that word,” says a neighbor. He says his children grew up next to the house Bollea lived in. “My daughters not like that. My sons not like that.”

People here say they have always been a fan of Bollea but wish he would’ve done more for the next generation. “Terry was the first guy to ever be a role model for this neighborhood and he had the kids wrapped around his finger. He had the biggest fan base you ever could imagine and he did nothing with it,” says Bryant.

Maybe, and I’m just spitballing here, Hulk should probably just hush for a while. Just a little while. Okay maybe forever, who knows. Either way, maybe just try taking responsibility for saying scumbag racist stuff instead of trying to place blame on literally anyone but yourself, especially when you’re trying to apologize and get people back on your side, y’know? Just an idea.

As far as i'm concerned, this is what Hogan gets for being such a pub whore.  Now if somebody can get something on Whaq to get him off of nearly every commercial.  Sick & tired of that hypocritical bully constantly being shoved & 4ced down my throat also.  Hogan shoulda stayed retired when he went on Leno's show & announced his retirement in 98.  And stayed away from the spotlight 4 good.  At least then, I woulda remembered Hogan for some good things.  But he chose 2 big time tarnish his legacy worse than Brett Favre did from 2006-2010 with his inconsistent mood swings.
I understand why Hogan went this way.  Cause florida is still racist & corrupt.  Been hearing some lot of racial injustice over there since the late 90's.  White people get off easy from things that black people get large sentences on.  I wasn't surprised that George Zimmerman got off, too bad the jury & society didn't see his twitter page.  The avatar has a confederate flag, & the stuff he says.  I feel what he did to Trayvon was personal & racially motivated.  Tampa Bay was racially unfair to Doug Williams back in the day, even though it was the crap management & he actually got them to 1 championship game.  Heard from a flyer fan that someone in the lightning organization did some gorilla type reference on Donald Brashear on their jumbotron 11 years ago in the playoffs.
And Florida fans would be racially unfair to Chris Leak of the gaylords who did help them win a national championship, & their offensive coordinator Charlie Strong-mainly cause his wife is white.  Some whites who still don't wanna step their game up as a human being.

When asked about his mental state, Hogan angrily replied, "I don't need that medicaid shit, I'm 100% normal!".

This is just Hogan being Hogan. He's always been a dick and always blamed someone else for it. Just a few years ago he blamed the passenger of the car crash his son had for the crash based only one the idea that the other kid was a bad person and deserved it.

Hold on, Hulk Hogan, lied? My opinion, it's easy. Hulk Hogan is always working and always trying to get himself over. I honestly don't think he even realizes he's not working anymore.

BUT, if you are to tell me that someone growing up in the south, in a poor neighborhood, in the 50's and 60's didn't hear the N-word thrown around a lot, I have VERY hard time believing you.

I fully believe that him and his friends in the 50s and 60s said the n word a lot. I just don't think a lot of black kids were in that same neighbourhood and certainly not using it in a friendly way with Hogan.

That, I'd agree with too.
