Baauer Announces New Album

Hip-hop friendly DJ Baauer performed Wednesday night (Jan. 27) on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and brought with him a special guest and announcement. The latter was that his album Aa (pronounced “double a”) will drop March 18, and the former was Leikeli47, who performed the track “Day Ones” off it.

The album’s tracklist is included below and reveals additional features M.I.A., Pusha T, Future and more. As for “Day Ones,” which was debuted on The Late Show, ski-mask clad Leikeli47 rips the track, spitting with ferocity. The New York MC, who maintains her anonymity had last released the mixtape Lk-47 Part III in November of 2015.

Speaking to XXL in July of 2015, Leikeli47 said, “People see the mask and think I want to stick them up. [Laughs]. The only things I want to do are create and have fun. That’s what the mask represents, it’s genderless, it’s faceless and it’s race-less. This mask represent freedom, you put it on and you escape.” The rapper first gained recognition when Jay Z included her song “F**k The Summer Up” on a Tidal playlist even going so far as to name the playlist after it.
