pitchers and catchers report this week

I remember spring used to be the only happy time of the year for Royals fans.  There was always this blissful talk year in and year out about how underwhelming prospects like Alex Gordon, Eric Hosmer, and Mike Moustakas were finally going to "break out".  Then a couple months in the Royals would be back on track for another 90-100 loss season and folks in KC would already be looking forward to Cheifs season by July.

That all changed with the blockbuster James Shields/Wade Davis for Will Myers trade in 2014.  That totally changed the trajectory of the franchise and the Royals had their first winning season in a decade, and by 2015 Shields was starting Game 1 of the World Series for the Royals.  He left the team in 2016 but by that time a winning culture had emerged, and Wade Davis became the centerpiece of the trade as he once lead the Royals to the greatest season ever pitched by any relief pitcher, and threw the final out against the Mets in the 2016 World Series win.

So anything is possible in the Spring!!! For any team.  This may finally be the year everything goes right for suffering franchises—there is always hope! And for returning champs like the Royals, it's going to be another big year, as we are starting with the same team we started last year with, plus Ian Kennedy and Jaokim Soria (to round out what was already the most dominant pen in baseball).

Alex Gordon posted an average 6.1 WAR between 2011-2014, that's an all star you idiot.  Moose had a breakout season last year and the Royals won the world series...what do I expect from the same guy that thought Jose Guillen was a good player.

I'm so hyped for baseball to come back. Unfortunately the gut feeling is telling me a 1986 rematch in the World Series.

Worst case scenario for me. :-X

Your doing too much cuzzin... Gordon took time to develop.  He was even sent back down to the minors at one point.  Sure he's been good since 2011, but I was making a more general point about the Royals, their prospects, and prospects in general that they take time to develop and that spring is always a time of optimism.  As a collective everything started to come together that first Shields year in Kansas City—but if we are splitting hairs then Gordon broke out before Shields, and Moose didn't breakout until after Shields hit free agency.

I know you are an illiterate piece of shit, but if I had to list each year specifically that all the Royals players broke out, then that information is too specific, and clouds the generalized theme of my post—which was the optimism of spring and how one big move/trade can change a franchise.  There is even optimism in New York, that the Mets may be able to rebound after squandering late leads to the Royals and cumming up short (like your sex life) under that pressure.

I see that while you are highly educated in pornography, you never quite realized your full potential when it came to reading and comprehension.

Can't wait, nothing like a day at the ballpark. Something I appreciate more and more as the years go by.

Yankees bullpen is gonna dominate

That's inevitable.

Hard to believe A-Rod & Tex will repeat what they did last year though. & that the health will be on point the way it was.

I didn't think the Mets would finish top 3 in their division going into last year though. So I guess it's all possible.

LET'S GO YANKEES!
