Tracks for Death Row Dr Dre Chronic 2
« on: March 17, 2017, 11:23:34 PM »
What were the original tracks for the Death Row version of "The Chronic 2" (the one that was hyped and planned for the follow up to "The Chronic" -- they advertised it in the 2Pac insert and I think the Greatest Hits insert, and it was talked about on MTV)

I know "California Love" was actually planned for this album, and Suge moved it to "All Eyez On Me" -- but what were the other big tracks, and does anyone know if they will leak out?

dre & ski / split personality is an oddity.. as is puppet master

It was never that far along to where it would have been released.  I think the advertising on "All Eyez" was more wishful thinking than anything else.  And it wasn't advertised on "Greatest Hits".  Dre was gone by that point.

Wasn't "Keep Their Heads Ringing" on 'Death Row Greatest Hits'?

Yeah I remember he did some stuff with EA Ski -- good point on those tracks all having the same feel -- especially "Keep Their Heads Ringin" "California Love," and "Natural Born Killaz" -- I think this was the Original Sound for the album now that you pointed that out -- didn't know Hittman was called Ghetto Tango -- and it doesn't sound like Dre had huge plans for Pac on this album with what was going on behind the scenes -- would've loved for this to get released even today if Dre could put it together how he intended  (But we know Dre's not big on releasing old stuff like Suge)

yeah, but they also had a song (never released) with the Been There Done That beat called something like This Heat. Just wondering if it was originally for the Golden State Warriors LP?

Yes.  The alternate version.  What are you getting at?

This beat fits the style.  Not sure if it was made for the video or possibly a leftover.

Also maybe "Zoom"? there was a version with Snoop.

I believe this was recorded while Snoop was on Death Row and Dre was on Aftermath.  Snoop wanted it to be a reunion track with him and Dre but Death Row didn't want to clear it.

Did this ever leak in good quality? Cuz I remember it only in low quality.

I wonder too as the tape rip sounded like crap and was distorted.
