Ras Kass on Label Cancelling 'Golden Chyld' Album with Dre, Kanye, Premier

Pretty sure the album was called Van Gogh

That was the original name, and it was a slightly different album. It got pushed back and he changed the name to Goldyn Chyld, dropped some of the tracks and added some new ones. The Dre and Premier produced songs were only on Goldyn Chyld.

It actually wasn’t. To make things more confusing, the song Goldyn Chyld on Van Gogh is different from the one produced by Premier that was later being pushed as a single for the album Goldyn Chyld. That’s why you see the Premier version sometimes referred to as the DJ Premier Remix. I couldn’t find the Van Gogh version on YouTube but it’s way different. I’ll upload soon. How do you know it’s not on there? I’ve never seen full production credits for Goldyn Chyld. Was the title mentioned somewhere?

The Van Gogh version of Goldyn Chyld has nothing to do with Premier. Kurupt just drops a line at the end of one of the verses and does some adlibs at the end. I uploaded that version a few posts back, check it out.

Ok so I just bought one song off the album to see if this was true, and it was not. It was a FLAC transcoded from a 128kbps mp3. See the spectrogram:



It's actually worse quality than the mp3 leak of the album (notice the bars that reach to the top):



That's disappointing.
