DJ Premier - "A man of few words"

DJ Premier
A man of few words
Year Round/Virgin
Late 2003

Closing out this week's news is the weekly update on Gang Starr's The Ownerz.  While we offered up last week that the LP had been pushed back until 6-24-03, the reason for the delay is too make sure that the LP is properly promoted; a major point of contention for both members who feel all of their other efforts and current effort have been criminally under-promoted.  To clear the air, Primo and Guru pushed back the release date so they could have a pow-wow with the CEO of Virgin, to ensure everyone was on the same page.   Also, look for the final tracklisting of The Ownerz to differ from the version that has been receiving some unfavorable press.  Lastly, besides putting in some last minute work on The Ownerz, look for Primo to lace Rakim's Oh My God, the Roc-A-Fella debut of M.O.P. (droooool), and release his own solo-debut, A Man Of Few Words, late this year on his own Year Round imprint.  In fact, Primo is so busy he recently passed on an opportunity to work with pop songstress Nelly Furtado. She caught the vapors!

Dope news, I thought Primo was signed to Terror Squad, oh well I'm sure this will be a dope album if it ever sees the light of day. Primo is 37 now, its about time he gets his own album out after all the work he has done for other artists.
