Your first album?
« on: April 29, 2018, 12:23:08 PM »
What was your first album? Do you have a story about it? My first album was Cypress Hill's "Black Sunday". I stole it from my uncle. I thought that he wasn't even listenin' to it, so i might as well take it. I was dumb as a muthafucka back then, but he never realized that i took it. I'm glad i did take it though, 'cause to this day it's still one of my favorite albums.

when I was younger I had to buy only edited CDs from Walmart but the first explicit album I ever copped was Biggie - Ready To Die when I was out in Ireland hah, that was like 2002

I think the first CD other than that which was bought for me was probably Bow Wow's debut album

I started to listen to rap music like a lot of people when Eminem dropped Marshall Mathers LP! My mom bought me this CD back in summer 2000 and then with my own money I bought Chronic 2001 a few months later and then I remember picking 3 albums for Christmas : Last Meal, Dynasty: Roc-La-Familia and De La Soul album with the Shaka Khan single on it!
I ended up loving the westcoast sound with snoop album, I was digging a lot the Jay album and I hated that De La Soul album except for a couple songs... lol lot of memory there

The Chronic (CD) & Doggystyle (tape) raised me.

Soul on Ice (Vinyl).

First album I was given was Mark Morrison's 'Return of the Mack' shortly followed by Will Smith's 'Big Willie Style'.
The first album I went out and brought was the edited version of 2Pac & Outlawz's 'Still I Rise'.

Cypress Hill - Temple Of Boom.

Knew nothing about music or hip hop, but though it had a cool cover.
After that day is was hooked.

Still one of the best produced albums ever imo.

I used to "borrow" my sister's cassettes Eric B & Rakim, Fat boys and we had the Breakin' 2 OST on record(I still have it).

The first cassette I bought was Luke Skywalker~The 2 Live Crew as shown in the picture(I found these in my garage I've got way more at my parents.

The First Cd's at the same time was Cypress Hill(self titled) That I actually got still have and got signed by B-Real Like 5 years ago and EPMD Business As Usual.
