These are nice interviews.  It is disappointing Suge fucked up Snoop’s Doggystyle label in the mid-90’s.  They were on fire at the time.  Just as Bad Azz was saying it was kind of the logical progression for Snoop after Doggystyle.  All that shit he mentioned was fire 🔥. I mean “Beware of My Crew” was classic.  Their joints on Murder Waa the Case were bangers—and even the Sentrelle and Tray Dee joint on The Show Soundtrack still resurfaces to my playlists to this day.

The LBC Crew album that finally came out on Wide Awake was only 80% done and to my ears it was a better version of Snoop then what we got from him over at Death Row in 96’.  If Snoop had the freedom I think would of been a better sound and look for him had he dropped some sort of Snoop Dogg presents the LBC Crew album in 1996 instead of the brick he dropped with the Doggfather.  Instead release LBC Crew on Doggystyle in 96’ and make a smooth transition away from Death Row.  Then maybe he could of later dropped a proper second solo album that would’ve featured all his Doggystyle artists and had a sound similar to what we eventually got with Last Meal.

That’s kind of like an alternate world had Suge not been so jealous and done what Bad Azz said and shown more respect and appreciation to Snoop (considering Snoop had been very good to Suge’s bank account) and given him freedom to develop shit on his own with Doggystyle Records.

Snoop lost 2 or 3 years of his prime because of Suge.  Snoop bricked on Death Row in 96’ with Doggfather, he was stranded on Death Row in 1997, then he had to seek refuge with Master P’s god aweful label in 98’.  It wasn’t till 99’ with Top Dogg that he finally got back with his team and started winning championships again.

Snoop is like Jordan — 6 Championships
