After announcing a few weeks ago that Rakim's long-delayed AfterMath debut, Oh My God, was being prepped for a June 2003 release, we're again hearing that Ra's comeback has hit a creative snag.  Apparently, the difficulties lay in one area and it's the same problem that affected Ra's contribution ("R.A.K.I.M.") to the 8 Mile OST----incredible verses, but flimsy hooks???

actually the hook was what i like the most of R.A.K.I.M... but in general i can imagine this.. as it's very important for the sales so they'll have to work on it

If that's the problem, they got the solution right in front of their eyes, already signed to the label: 50 Cent. Pretty much every review I've read on his album have praised the hooks and they have also been mentioned in other contexts regarding 50. Get 50 to write some hooks and you're set. Also they could get guests to do the hooks. Nate, Kokane or Butch Cassidy (or maybe Truth or Latoiya if a female is needed) could do singing hooks (obviously) and I bet pretty much any rapper would be willing to get on Ra's album, even though it's just a hook.

What the hell does hiphopsite know?  Last week they said, "from a reliable source" that the album was coming June 3.  Face it, no one other than Rakim, Dre and probably Jimmy know what the hell is going on.
