I'm not surprised. He was left out as the "black sheep" in the early days, and went on his own, even out-selling Dr Dre at one point, releasing 3 consistently solid albums in the 90's, helped out reasonably well on the Chronic, Doggystyle and Dogg Food albums with little to no recognition - didn't ask for any, and garnered a great portfolio. You fast forward to 2004, and he gets shunted on the 213 album, denied any production credits, so as to not make any more money out of the project than Snoop would. And Snoop back then really did think he was the main star, coming off the back of 'Beautiful' w / Neptunes on an album titled Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss following up with with drop it likes it's hot and signs with Justin Timberlake, there was no way Warren was getting production and mixing credits along Universal taking their chunk and giving an equal amount to both of their subsidiary labels. It's a shame because if Warren even produced half of the album, I bet it would have been a lot better. I mean the Warren G remix below is far better than the album version IMO. My expectation, was, at the time, a 'I Want It All' but with more Snoop and Nate over it. He took a back seat, never complained. Didn't complain about not getting a call for the 2001 album, but he's done great in his career, and hasn't had to step on people and play politics to get ahead

WARREN NOT PRODUCING ON THE 213 ALBUM IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST INJUSTICES IN HIP-HOP

THAT SAID IT WAS STILL A NEAR CLASSIC

Are you guys nuts? It's 2020 have y'all heard Warren G's recent production?!! It's nothing to compare to his early stuff,  his last good beat was the Jeezy joint with Neyo. He is good where he is at making BBQ seasoning. His music is just not hitting it's uninspired.

That's what he was always about. Complaining about smth. Also seems he's also always kinda distant off people and the world.
Single with Ty Dolla Sign was cool though. Even lyrical video was pushed through WSHH youtube. That's not enough though, if he wants more - need to push more. Nobody expects someone to come back from years of silence with a huge hit. 1,6 million streams on Spotify? Pretty good result though.

Even G-Funk documentary was about Warren G being offended by everybody. It wasn't about G-Funk in general. But that's alright, I'm always into movement and every word about it is cool for me. I ain't mad at everybody like Warren G lol.
