@crida1:

We know a little about the depth of eiht's affiliation
with the tragniews. Obviously you are better informed.
Also I never meant to start a feud between the ATF and nutty blocc.
On the music level I have to confess that
CMW (eiht, boom bam, chill, dj slip, mike t) used to deliver high
quality stuff for the most parts (specially front man eiht).
I actually liked eiht's aggressive delivery he showed us
in the 90's. Between 2000 and today he had a lot of classic shit as
well and I can not confirm that after his break up with factor house
(2004) he fell of.

We know he had a lot of possibilities in his career to leave
underground rap and easily generate money out of his talent
working with major companies.
Having chosen that way, he would probably living now in the hills
and been seen on tv serials such as CSI or whatever..
There are a lot of rappers having done
exactly this (jay z, ice t, ice cube, dre, snoop, damn even quik, ..)
and you already know the names deserving an entry in my list.
The funny thing about it is the fact that some of them used to
indeed deliver qualitative music (in the 90's).
For example snoopy doggystyle was a good cd, but things he produced
after his no limit era was garbage for the most part.
Or compare Quik's Dollar+Sense in contrast to the stuff he is doint now.
Real rap fans totally don't feel no more a lot of shit produced
nowadays and tagged as rap music. Specially I don't really feel
the music of the so called new west artists such as nipsy hussle,
glasses malone, jay rock, .. (Shout outs to the ones I like such as big2daboy and a few others).

Now back to eiht though:
Eiht represented authentic gutter music delivered in
a depressive but also often aggressive way. A lot of true and serious rap
fans not living on the privileged side of life
could relate themselves to this. Sophisticated rap is not about
hoes, cars, rims and eiht understood to appeal to this aspect.
You (crida1) say if eiht were mako he would have made couple
million dollars.. For people knowing eiht's musical career
it is totaly obvious that he has that potential and I think
eiht knows this also himself. So why the hell did he not chose
the easy way ? To me it shows true attitude and not being a
sellout.

To my understanding eiht has another problem.
History showed and still shows that best so
called 'gangster rap (terrible term)' needs both TALENT and
AUTHENTICITY.
Quik had both when he was affiliated with the Tree Top's in the 90.
Something is missing now.
Eiht had it in the same time as well.
Things on the same level can today be found on underground level.
as e.g. on the 'rep yo set' compilation.
For example I liked among a few others the performers of the following groups:
- swans set:
- SSCC :
You notice talent and close affiliation with sets which is street level
authenticity.

The receipe for successful gangster rap is simple as that.

Back again on eiht:
I think Eiht realized he is getting older older and is not getting
the amount of attention he deserves despite the heaters
he produced on his ~18 albums. On the other hand he has
to take responsibility for his family and try to offer 'em
a better life by moving to better neighborhoods. Out of many people
there are only a few that are blessed with talent and he had
to make sure his family (kids) has/have better chances in the
society which is by the way a very respectable act.
Eiht is one of last rappers that stood authentic up to the point
it was jsutifiable for him.
Crida1, mention 1 other rapper with eiht's skills staying still in the hood
and being an active member of a set. YOu can't mention nobody and you already know that.
Besides your business issues with him try to reflect this ascpect and show
a bit more respect.

To MC EIHT:
Personally I think you have done the right thing but should
know that you can't do the same kind of music you used to do back
in the days. As crida1 correctly says, you can't claim
Compton ever and ever again and not even show up in the city.
You are talented as hell and should try to create a whole new rap genre
which I call reality rap. There are a lot of stuff to rap about
and as long as it is sophisticated, interesting and authentic
people will show it love. Otherwise it is totally clear that
people will try to get attention by smashing you (eiht) on the street
level when they know they have a little to loose and you a lot.
True eiht / CMW fans want you to come out with a clear and complete statement
about the situation with factor house and your future plans.
Remaining silent causes severe damages to your reputation and is a shame as you have
invested so much effort and time to build it up.

Cheers.
