I wonder if Kokane's album will still eventually drop on Doggystyle though.....I would like to see him hook up with ATL now.  He sounds the best on Hutch's production.

True! I was always a fan of Kokane's work...

MCA is not a nice place to stay. Recently, its president was fired and it got under new direction. It seems MCA took some labels under its wing, like Doggystyle or Shaggy's Big Yard, making a hundred promises about releasing albums and promoting all artists of their roster. Shaggy has already felt those were false promises as Rayvon's releases was madly underpromoted and other scheduled releases (Marsha Morrison, RikRok, Brian & Tony Gold...) are being pushed back and/or shelved. This is a similar case to what Snoop's Doggystyle is/may be goin thru under MCA.  Shaggy has already got out of their contract with MCA to find another distributor or go independent. I think Snoop will (be forced to) end up doin the same thing.

wow i didn't know about all that shit from mca, it makes sense though cause think about it if mca was all snoop thought it would be 213 would definetely be out on it, and instead they are shopping around, same with tha pound shoppin for deals

maybee they should have stayed on tvt where they were the whole labels #1 acts....it could have been like aftermath and interscope

nah, i think that TVT is only able to handle one release from them a year,
and that happens to be tha eastsidaz.
TVT is a smaller company.
but if snoop could get doggystyle to hook up a deal with various labels (like universal, Jive, columbia, interscope, priority, sony, ) for each doggystyle artist, so that they all are not on the waiting list of one label.

look at rocafella for example......
practically all their artists have different labels that distribute their cd, like camron, beinie seigel , freeway, diplomats....... & then jay-z & memphis bleek are on defjam

see rocafella can do it....
so should snoop with doggystyle

even if their not on the same label thats a good pidea to try somethin like that............you make the album and snoop shops it around and finds the best deal for them, to see who will promote it the most.................because no matter what a label is gonna like some of the artists more than others, or might just promote snoop

Fallen Star was wack as hell.......

Wasn't too fond of the song myself.  I liked her singing the hook on "Baby if you're ready" (Doggy's Angels).  Besides that, I'm not really into her tracks.

MCA are a little too slow putting out albums, and that's why some of the DoggHouse artists are gon' drop an indy album on DPG, to get quick cash before they eventually drop a big album on MCA.
