RIP

He was a kind man and a good friend to all who met him, and a great husband to Margaret Thatcher. He's one of my heroes.

RIP

A drunkard who was married to a bitch was one of your heroes?

Since when did drinking a lot make you a bad person? And Margaret Thatcher's policies have NOTHING to do with this.

I repeat; kind man, good friend, great husband.

No he wasn't dumbass, Maggie was the drunk but because he would be holding on to her bottles, everyone assumed it was him. One time there was an assasination attempt on her life (tried blowing her up in her hotel room, in Brighton i think) but because she moved to go down to the drinks cabinet and so wasn't in bed or something so missed the explosion. If only she was T-total :'(.

Mauzip: Maggie said "he was the golden thread in my life". He adapted to the role of husband to the Prime Minister exceedingly well, and was universally respected for his lack of jealousy.

Don't call me dumbass again.

I was just making the point that he is rather a strange hero to have, there are many good husbands, and all this guy did was marry a top politician.  So basically he is a hero to you because he married Margaret Thatcher.

Where did I say that? He's my hero because he was a good man, and adapted well to being in Maggie's shadow. Unlike many of you, I refuse to hate someone I don't know. I dislike some/most of Maggie's policies, but she is not Satan. She was, despite what you want to believe, a great leader.

I just remembered this funny thing he said one time, talking about him and Maggie, at least i think he did:
"I wear the pants in this relationship. I wash and iron them too."

And Jay, i wouldn't call you a dumbass again, but after reading your second post it's quite clear that, well, you are.
