Fuck that.  How come when somebody commits a crime that you like, everybody starts "OH WE GOTTA GET HIM OUT".  No we don't.  The man needs to serve his time, there is nothing to FREE here.  There's no injustice here.  The only hint of injustice is that he only got a friekin' year or whatever he's going to have to serve for murder? If he really did kill somebody driving drunk, this bastard needs to get more like 20-30 YEARS.

If he really did kill somebody driving drunk...

For the full low down on this, peep Ras' Evil That Men Do on Soul On Ice. He discusses it there, albeit putting a spin on it that suggests we should pity him. Whatever.

As I said, I doubt he killed someone. that's manslaughter, and that's some years in jail. You do not get off with drunk driving killing. Trust me, you get at least 6. Ras Kass ain't killed no one, because he would still be in jail because of it. Damn rumors.

he probably got off with manslaughter...my homie did the same thing when he was drunk...he killed a family...no lie...and he got off on manslaughter...the cali court system is strange sometimes...and seein as ras is a somewhat "star" theyll go lightly on him...i think he needs to spend time in jail...if it was me i know id be locked up with the quikness...i love ras' music...but fuck it...like the sayin goes...u do the crime...u pay the time...

didn't Ras say in Evil That Men Do that the guy hit him back in 91 & his car exploded? haven't listened to that track in a while

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

And the line before that just adds on to the story that he was drinking first:

"Did a caper, and took my Guinness Stout to the head"

I think he was 17 at the time.  I would think that in California that's considered a young offender (it is in Canada and probably most other places) but that's probably why he didn't receive a harsher sentence.
