What would you do if you found a baby in a trashcan?

what would you do,would you adopt a lil black baby that has no chance of being adopted if you found it laying in a trashcan would you take it to your parents,would you take it to the police and let the foster place have it or would you ask the police after 30 days could you adopt?

In North Carolina, there's a law, that if a baby's under a month old, the mother can leave it with a police officer, and not get in any kind of trouble what so ever.
