'Above the Rim' OST how u would of done it
« on: July 22, 2003, 10:19:33 AM »
The Above the Rim soundtrack is a classic Death Row album, and a very good soundtrack. Most ppl hear tend to talk it up a bit too much tho. It is good, but could of been better. First is the actual tracklist, and then below is what I would of done (using songs from the actual release and songs heard in the movie)

1.Anything  - SWV
2.Old Times Sake - Sweet Sable
3.Part Time Lover - H-Town
4.Big Pimpin - Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound
5.Didnt Mean To Turn U On - 2nd II None
6.Doggie Style - Dj Rogers
7.Regulate - Warren G, Nate Dogg
8.Pour Out A Little Liquor - 2pac
9.Gonna Give It To Ya - Jewell, Aaron Hall
10.Afro Puffs - Lady Of Rage
11.Jus So Ya Know - CPO
12.Hoochies Need Love Too - Paradise
13.Im Still In Love With U - Al B Sure
14.Crack Em - OFTB
15. U Bring The Dog Out - Rhythm & Knowledge
16.Blowed Away - B Rezell
17.Its Not Deep Enough - Jewell
18.Dogg Pound 4 Life - Tha Dogg Pound

1.Pain - 2pac ft. Stretch
2.Anything - SWV ft. Wu Tang
3.Part Time Lover - H-Town
4.Big Pimpin - Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound
5.Didnt Mean To Turn U On - 2nd II None
6.Pump Pump - Snoop ft. Lil Malik
7.Regulate - Warren G, Nate Dogg
8.Pour Out A Little Liquor - 2pac
9.Gonna Give It To Ya - Jewell, Aaron Hall
10.Afro Puffs - Lady Of Rage
11.Jus So Ya Know - CPO
12.Holla if You Hear Me - 2pac
13.Im Still In Love With U - Al B Sure
14.Crack Em - OFTB
15. U Bring The Dog Out - Rhythm & Knowledge
16.Just Doggin - Tha Dogg Pound ft. Nate Dogg
17.Its Not Deep Enough - Jewell
18.Dogg Pound 4 Life - Tha Dogg Pound

Now thats classic  8)

I want that 'mobbin with the dogg pound' track thats in the movie. its never been leaked.

u put a song thats not to do with that movie on there too.. Just Doggin is from the Sunset Park OST.

and pain is a obvious choice.. they used it so much in the movie and it wasnt on the OST, just on a single b-side i mean.. WTF?!?

Very hit or miss soundtrack.  Half are great songs, half I skip every time.

Overall a 7/10.

Just Doggin - Tha Dogg Pound ft. Nate Dogg is the same song as 'mobbin with the dogg pound' and with changed name ended up on "Sunset Park" OST. One obvious choice is missing from your tracklist it's song 'LOYAL TO THE GAME" by 2 PAC, TREACH & RIDDLER and can be found on Warren g's "regulate" single and on "music from Above the Rim" EP which is like a jewel in my collection....

"Pain" and "Loyal To Tha Game" were both on the soundtrack, but only the cassette version.

Makes me glad I grew up without a CD player  ;D

yeah i just checked... for some reason when i watched it a few months back when the dvd came out i decided it wasnt the same song.. just similar.. watchin again it obviously is now. they kinda had the vocals louder.. maybe its just cos it sounds odd in 5.1

Game on the soundrack

Yeah I thought u were a bit confussed there Overseer  ;)

I went to bed last night just after posting this and thought of 'Loyal 2 the Game' and 'My Money Right' which I should of included. I know some of those songs appeared on cassettes and singles, but Im talking about the cd album.

Could of been a lot better...
