Paris 40 Ounces & A Fool

The perpetrating ballin' ass nigga on your block
With slave money from the record company I'm poppin'
Now I'm on my way to the neighborhood liquor store
To help sell more of that bullshit to my folk
Reachin' for a can is the man with no conscience
But I'm making money, so nigga you can watch this
Mack bubble cuz I'm trouble when I pop the top
Even though I know I'm selling out my soul just to make a nut
So nigga buy it and fuck what you heard
Cause all of that black power bullshit is for the birds
Yeah, I know it's poison and I'm sellin'
But yo, I'm the new house nigga with the flow
Now...

sounds to me like a diss towards Cube for makin the commercials for St Ides, what do you think? drop your thoughts here, peace

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

I think it's a dis to any rapper promoting alcohol, especially in adverts. At the time the album was released a lot of people said it was aimed at Snoop because Paris seems to be imitating his flow. But as I remember Paris said it was aimed at no one in particular.

yeah that could be but he samples Ice Cube saying "House niggaz gotta run and hide" which i think he did to make it seem Ice Cube's ads seem hypocritical

Paris sampled quite a lot from Cube (on "Sleeping With The Enemy" too). I think it's a general diss to those who made the commercials.
