I've been impressed with Silva from what i've seen, he has all the attributes a defensive midfielder needs, crazy stamina, strong but good in the tackle, speed and he plays it simple. He's the perfect shield for our back line, while Vieira attacks. Also i fully trust Wenger's judgement.

Richard Wright just lacks experience and confidence, playing first team football at Everton should bring experience and confidence will come naturally. He still has the potential to be an England International imo.

And Seaman's still got his pornographic hair, but Petit has apparently cut his over at Chelsea, Graeme Le Saux is reportedly devastated.

So many cheap shots at Le Saux

Why the fuck did he not go to the World Cup

He had been on the left wing all season for Chelsea

All I'm saying about Gilberto is that there is no way Charlton would have signed him if he wasn't in the World Cup, people make too much of the "World Cup winner" phrase.  He could be good for you I suppose.

Wright has got potential, but the worrying thing is that he seems a confidence player.  The best keepers forget their mistakes straight away and carry on, Schmiechel made a few howlers in his time for us but he didn't care, he just shouted at one of his defenders, usually Bruce or Pallister, preferably one of the Nevilles, and carried on.  Now last season Wright kept dropping them in, and didn't seem to have the mental ability to recover, so Wenger actually put Taylor ahead of him.  There's a big chance for Wright to establish himself as England keeper, as Seaman is collecting his pension, Martyn is past it, and James, while being the number 1 shotstopper in the premiership, still hasn't learnt how to catch the ball.  But Robinson and Kirkland are miles ahead of him.  Oh BTW, another prediction from me for this season is that you will see the TRUE Dudek.  He will follow in the tradition of Grobellar, James, Friedel and Westerweld as a shit Liverpool goalkeeper.  Also Schmiechel is so far past it it's unbelievable, he's out for the first 2 months of the season and if Kevin Keegan was intelligent he would sell Weaver for a couple of million and keep Carlo Nash in goal.  But he isn't so he'll obviously play Weaver and Schmiechel instead of Nash.

BTW a question:  Who cost around £9.5 million and has played less than 5 competitive first team games for his premiership club?  What a waste of money.

Oh and it's not Jeffers, the guy I'm talking about has never been injured in his year at this club (almost a year)

Im confident Silva prove himself in the league, just like he did at his former club and during the world cup. From what ive seen of him there is no question of his ability in my mind.

Keegan is tactically inept, he is out of his depth in the premiership where tactics are the key to success.

I dunno who the £9.5 million cat is.

It's Kirkland

Deadline day for transfers, Feyenoord have told Houllier that Dudek won't be leaving, Houllier panics, as he only has one day Coventry hold him to ransom and he pays 9 and a half million (i think) for Kirkland but while he is doing that Feyenoord have decided Dudek can leave after all so Houllier begs his board to let them buy Dudek as well.

Then they tried to spin it to the media like they were meant to do it lol

Stupid scousers

That probably gave him his heart attack

Whoops

Dudek plays for the cameras, i watched the Liverpool game the other night, he parries/punches everything and jumps around for the sake of it, im not a fan.

£9.5 mill for Kirkland? Hahaha thats hilarious, Liverpool will end up like Leeds that way.

Whats y'all thoughts on is Diouf, Diao and Baros?

I watch neither of the Liverpool games because they were on at the same time as United both days and because they are extremely boring to watch

I heard Barros was excellent, Houllier actually handled his transfer very intelligently by shielding him from any media attention by purchasing that waster Anelka at exactly the same time.  Whether Houllier meant this I don't know.  If it was Pinnochio that did it he definitely didn't mean it.

To be fair to Liverpool they were in for both Diuf and Diao before the World Cup, so it's not like they were flash in the pan signings like Poborsky/Suker etc.  I think Diouf will cause problems in the dressing room, I don't think he's a team player but maybe Houllier can change him.  Even then he won't break in to the Owen/Heskey partnership.

Diao seems a squad player to me. Bouba Diop, Fadiga and Cisse all outshined him in the World Cup in midfield.

They need a winger, Duff is logical, but I don't think Duff will move until next summer.  I'd be very upset if Duff didn't come to us because look who our covering wingers for Giggs and Beckham are.

Kirkland will be good in the future tho, I think he will get a few games in the cups next season.

baros is a good player, always has been and I think will be, he needs a bit of first team footy tho.

Diouf seems a great player but the question is if he can adjust to the english style of play, same with diao.

Diouf looks a similar style of player to Anelka, superb attacking but piss poor defensively, should do aight.

Not seen much of Diao, he wasnt impressive in the Senegal/France match, but with Gerrards inability to stay fit he should get a fair crack at the first team.

Baros is an out and out goal scorer, if he can build a strike partnership with Owen he'll be great, but theres gonna be huge competition for first team strikers at Anfield.

This year i think 'Boro could do well with Maccarone, Juninho and Boateng.

So whos going down this year then? I reckon Sunderland and maybe West Brom, i dunno who else, it'll be mad tight down there this year.

Yer Baros should be good for Liverpool, but with Heskey, Owen, Litmanen I cant see him getting much first team footy exept for cup games.

Dam Wright, We got beat 2-0 tonight by Anderlecht and Wright conceeed 2, Thats now played 3 conceeded 4, styill not good enough for the blues we need to to really perform this season.

I was actually chatin to my friends about boro before, they have invested well this season they have spent nearly 20 million and I think a good top 10 place for them this season.  You forget they got Geremi too, hes a good player.  My relegation predictions are:

18.  Charlton
19.  West Brom
20.  Birmingham

Exactly my opinion with Sunderland and WBA, I don't think Blues will go down as they've spent well and Bruce has proven he can do well if he stays in one place at a time.

Man City have the absolute worst defence in the Premiership.  Schmiechel and Weaver are crap, Mettomo, Dunne, Howey ditto, they must have signed another defender but nobody big, so it all depends on how many they can score.  If they score enough they'll stay, I think they will.

Tigana will be the first manager to leave/get sacked, Fulham could be in trouble.

The only thing that kept charlton up was the fact that they won the London league (lol), you know what I mean they beat all the other London clubs, if they lose this ability they will plummet.

Djorkaeff may not be bothered anymore as he accomplished his task of going to the World Cup, and Okocha is the most inconsistent player of all time.  But I'm not going to say Bolton because I made that mistake last season.

Dark horse for the drop:  Villa.  I am biased against them as I hate them because their fan base is a joke and all they can do is blame their chairman, they've also got rid of two of their best three midfielders, Boateng and Merson, with Alpay wanting away. I dunno if they will (they probably won't) but in the words of Kevin Keegan, I'd love it, I'd love it.
