Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

notable is all in the eye of the beholder...it could mean talented or it could mean most active or it could mean most influential in the rap game...i mentioned slug because i think his talent is notable.

thats your take on it...my take on it is artists who are talented enough to be mentioned...thats why its in the eye of the beholder...notable could be a few different things.
