Cant beat the irish from ireland  ;D ... anyone else born and bred here???

No Offense but surely you truely "irish" if you are born there...so many people claim to be irish when they 3rd / 4th gen etc...

...they are of irish decent no doubt but your nationality is where you are born?

I cannot stand people pretending they are Irish

Like Everlast

If you are not born and bred there you are not Irish IMO

My names Foley but I'm not pretending cause I've got an Irish name I'm Irish

lol

I dont know why Id take offense...I was born in Dublin, I live in Dublin, and all my ancestors are from ireland.

Anyway, most of my aunts and uncles emigrated so I have lots of "irish" cousins who live abroad. Though like you said, Id call them half irish or whatever, because unless you are born and bred here your not really irish, you havent had the irish experience, but no doubt its still in yer blood.

And overseer, up the north youre dad'd prob be considered a brit especially if his dad was in the army. But if ya wanna call yourself irish, fine by me  ;D
SO MANY PEOPLE THINK THEY KNOW
BUT DO THEY KNOW TO THINK
THINK ABOUT THINKING
BEFORE THEY KNOW NOTHING
DID THEY KNOW SOMETHING
LETS THINK
