It's a matter of opinion. Some sources may say yes - but most no.

1950 was very strange.

Only 13 teams were in it, 3 withdrew late on (one was India, because they wanted to play in bare feet, but FIFA said they couldn't lmao)

There was four groups

2 of four teams
1 of three teams
and 1 of 2 teams - just one match lol

The four winners of these groups went in to another group

Brazil
Uruguay
Sweden
Spain

Whoever won the group won the World Cup

So there wasn't even a World Cup Final that year

It turned out that the last match was the decider - so it became sort of a final - Brazil (the home team) could have drawn the game and won the World Cup, but Uruguay won to finish on 5 points with Brazil on 4 points.

Spain finished bottom, losing every game (7 - 1 to Brazil)

So you decide if they made the Semis
