GOOD FREE AGENTS FOR THE LAKERS?
« on: June 16, 2002, 08:18:36 AM »
Who do you suggest to Lakers?

Those are the best ones with no restrictions, IMO:
Kendall Gill
Walter McCarty
Charles Oakley
Trajan Langdon
Voshon Lenard
Mookie Blaylock
Walt Williams
Kevin Willis
Travis Best
Isaac Austin
Rod Strickland
Malik Rose
Terry Porter
Quincy Lewis
Scott Padgett
Bryon Russell
John Starks
Tyrone Nesby
Popeye Jones
Gary Trent
Troy Hudson
Raja Bell
Corie Blount
Dan Majerle
Rodney Rogers
John Wallace

Chose 3:

I go with Malik Rose (great PF), Gary Trent (they called him the Shaq of the Mac) & Mookie Blaylock (good defender as PG).

If we buy those 3 we will have a great bench IMO.

Shaq, Horry, Fox, Kobe & Fisher
+Walker, Rose, Trent, Blaylock, Shaw & i hope George too. Plus a rookie, Madsen and other minor players. We still need a 3pts shooter IMO, but none is really good from the Free Agent list. Maybe Blaylock is the best one.

Yeah, i forgot about Jeff McInnis! Just replace Mookie with Jeff.

McINNIS, ROSE & TRENT.

I think Billups and Rashard Lewis aint real free agents, but it's a team option or a player option.

Like Bibby. He's a team option. I just wrote a quick list of totally free agents.

Actually Nash, Stojakovic and Kobe Bryant plays pretty well at soccer. LOL. Juve is probably interested in them more than in The Wizard. Btw Walt is a legend! Too ghetto. LOL! To bad he's dying in Houston right now! :(

LMAO! That's the dumbest post ever! Sorry.

If you are talking about Richmond, he didnt play for 3 single facts:
1) He's 37 years old
2) Lakers didnt need him, but his hella fat contract to expire this summer
3) He knew it!

About Rice...
1) He failed in New York and in Houston too. Let's say he didnt return at 100% after his injury in Charlotte. And let's say he was broken too. C'mon.. be real. Plus he never made his shots. You gotta be a star to play "as a star" with Kobe & Shaq. I mean.. if you dont have the balls to shoot your shoots, then it's better Fox, who at least can defend.
2) He still played a lot winning a title as a starter
3) Actually he ruined Lakers (because of the trade Jones-Campbell), not viceversa! And he was a free agent after 1 year with Lakers. So we didnt ruined him at all. He won a title and signed with NY as a free agent.

Smooth

If I was in a NBA free agents shoes I wouldnt go tha Lakers, (of course its a guarenteed ring)....but for yo career it does slow down yo carrer......u know ur not gonna start and u know that when u get in tha game u not gonna get yo shots cuz Kobe and Shaq get most tha shots.....u cant prove ur talent on LA cuz u dont get alot shots to prove yoself...where if u went to anotha team (of course u not gonna win as many games) but u would at least get to show ur talent!! Thats like T-Mac when he left Toronto to go to tha Magic.....he wasnt gettin alota shots cuz Carter was tha star.....then when he went to Orlando......he shined!!

I doubt any of these guys have a hidden talent. and anyway if your a PF , u are gonnna start. Cuz almost any damn PF is better than Samaki Walker.  LAkers dont start horry till the playoffs or late in the season.  So if your a PF u would want to go to the lakers.
