Maldini (Dumbest Coach in the World Cup)
« on: June 15, 2002, 10:19:50 AM »
What the hell was he thinking?!  Pepino Cuevas single handedly beat Slovenia so they can qualify to the round of 16 to face Germany, and he puts him in during the last minutes of the game.  Cuevas played good durin the last minutes if he would have played at least one half, maybe Paraguay could have beaten Germany. Or at least tie.  what the hell was his thinking? Really?

Man you cant think like that. I mean you wasnt there, to check the emotions of the players, to check who was on top of conditions, who was ready, who had problems, etc..

Btw the dumbest coach in the World Cup can be Trapattoni (Italy) if he'll really not start with Del Piero no more. He considers Del Piero our 5th strikers. So the "dumbest coach in the World Cup" Cup goes to.... TRAP! ;)

DEL PIERO played 8 minutes, and he scored saving Italy.

Maldini is still the dumber coach.  Hes not in the cup no more. and if Del Pierro didnt make that goal, they would still be in

Hmmmmm

Maldini, Trappatonni

What do they have in common?

ITALIAN

Italians play defensively, so they are less likely to play their attacking players

Plus Cuevas was carrying a niggling foot injury

You right. Let's say he is the same one who didnt let Roberto Baggio play at France '98... so we italians already know him.

The dumbest move was been to sign a new coach just for the World Cup. Not even for the Copa America! How good is this move? Maldini didnt even know the players of Paraguay when he signed (no disrespect to Para.. but nobody gives a flying fuck about Paraguayan football here in Italy!). So blame Paraguay, not Maldini. Then blame Maldini.

Actually i think nobody hoped Paraguay to arrive where they arrived. Germany eliminated them at 88. It happens, but Germany is stonger, and Paraguay still made Second Turn.

You cant compare Italy to Paraguay. I mean if Italy arrives second it's a tragedy here. If Paraguay won against Germany.. Maldini was a national hero!

lol u started check it out.....

Jay ay bee.....its the round of 16 and u have an incredible player that can tear a defense up, u wouldnt put him in? Cuevas would want to go in too, with the injury or no injury.

Yeah of course he should have played

When he came on he went round about three players

But Maldini is a defense minded coach

Like Trapattoni and almost all the italian coaches that will coach the National. I dunno why! Italian teams aint all defensive minded! But National.... it looks like the fact that we probably got the best defence of the world means we cant play with an offensive team.

Write me a better attack than Del Piero, Totti, Vieri, Inzaghi, Montella, Del Vecchio & Doni. How come only 2 of them play? And 1 of them, Totti, as a playmaker? That's because of the mentality.

Maldini just did the same in Paraguay. But everybody knew Maldini. If they wanted an offensive minded coach.... then why Maldini? He's like that. And Trapattoni is like that. Tell me a single coach in the world who will not play TOMORROW with Del Piero starter. Or Montella. Just name 1 coach. Probably only Maldini. LOL.

And you know the reason? Cause he doesnt defend a lot. What? A STRIKER????
