WHY 50 Cent is so successful......

A lot of times I read posts that say, "50 Cent is wack, 50 Cent aint no lyricist, 50 Cent is overated, 50 cent this, 50 cent that, etc etc."

The way I see it, 50 Cent is really talented.  He knows how to pimp the rap game.  The thing that makes 50 Cent so dope is that dude knows how to put together a song very well.  True, "lyrically" 50 Cent isn't amongst rap's elite, BUT, dude has his flow mastered, picks dope beats, and comes up with catchy choruses.  Dude has style and personality too.  THATS why 50 Cent is selling millions of records.

Lloyd Banks without a DOUBT is the nicest lyrically in the G-Unit camp.  Banks can spit.  Better than 50 and better than Buck.  But I think banks lacks the charisma and personality that 50 has.  I think he's improving though, if you listen to his newer shit, theres a lot more personality in his songs/freestyle/mixtape shit.

they built their buzz from scratch....

Eminem and Dre gave him a solid push though, he wouldn't be approaching DIAMOND status if it wasn't for Dre and Eminem..

There's a few reasons why 50 is so popular.

1. He's at least COMPETENTLY talented.  In a puffy type of way.  As in, he's better than average, his music doesn't have any problems with it, or he's not untalented.

2. He works his ass off.  He's constantly working, making music, videos, touring, doing guest appearances, interviews, etc. again, just like Puffy.

3.  MTV.  Just like Puffy.  For whatever reason, MTV decided they liked this guy, so they blew him up.  The first two reasons are why he was successful on mixtapes, all 3 reasons are why he's so successful mainstream.

Just because 50 doesn't spit dictionary shit like Cannibus or Ras Kass doesn't mean his flow ain't hot. He may have become a lot more commercial since joining Shady/Aftermath, but if you checc out his mixtape shit from the late nineties you'll C he's pretty damn creative. I'm tired of people being so damn shallow when it comes to lyricists. Not every rapper can be like Bis or Em.
